  Mini-Grant Guidelines

PRINCETON EDUCATION FOUNDATION (PEF)

Teacher Mini-Grant Opportunities

The Princeton Education Foundation (PEF) in conjunction with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction is pleased to announce that we are now offering mini-grants for the next academic school year.  These grants are an excellent way for teachers to develop and share innovative lesson plans and to learn from other teachers in the district.  The goal of the mini-grant program is to give teachers the opportunity to design and implement innovative educational projects that will help to improve student achievement.

Guidelines:

§   The 2009-2010 Mini-Grant Application  is short and easy to complete.
§    Indicate on Proposal and Budget forms if you are applying for STEM funding.

§   The deadline for proposals is mid-October each academic year.

§   Notification of grant awards will be made by the end of November of each year.

§   Applications must be complete, signed and approved by building   principal, and then forwarded to the Office of Curriculum and Instruction.

§   All applications must be typed.

§   Mini-grant allocations will range from $200 to $1,000 each.

§   Projects may begin anytime after January and end by August.

  • To streamline the purchasing process, grants will be awarded directly to each teacher in installment payments.  Teachers will be required to keep a record of expenses and submit original receipts for each installment.

o     The final report will consist of a one-page project report.

o     A one-page budget report that will be due one month after the   completion of the project.

  •   These reports should be submitted to the Office of Curriculum and Instruction.

  • Grants will be awarded based on innovation, creativity, educational value, benefit to students and clarity.

  • Priority will be given to grants that focus on improving student achievement.
